    About the movie

The Way, Way Back (Cert 12a) is the funny and poignant story of 14 year old Duncan’s (Liam James, 2012) summer vacation with his mother Pam (Toni Collette, Little Miss Sunshine), her overbearing boyfriend Trent (Steve Carell, Evan Almighty), and his daughter Steph (Zoe Levin).

Having a rough time fitting in, Duncan wants to get away and stumbles across the Water Wizz waterpark where he finds an unexpected friend in Owen (Sam Rockwell, Seven Psychopaths), the park’s carefree manager.

As Duncan gets to know the other friendly and sometimes quirky employees, including Caitlin (Maya Rudolph, Bridesmaids), he slowly opens up and begins to finally find his place in the world - all during a summer that will change his life.

Written and directed by the Oscar® award winning writers of The Descendants, this movie is a feel good comedy drama, full of heart and hope.
